On Friday, April 28, 2023, a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student named Bhaskar Jetty, hailing from Gujarat, was fatally stabbed on the premises of Reva University, a private university near Bagalur in north Bengaluru. The incident took place during the annual college fest and the victim was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen by unidentified assailants, leading to his death later that night, despite being rushed to a nearby private hospital.
According to the police, the incident occurred at reva university following a scuffle between two groups of students over a trivial matter at around 9:30-9:45 p.m. The identity of the assailant remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing, according to Laxmi Prasad, DCP (North East).
The deceased student had a guardian in Mathikere and parents in Gujarat, both of whom have been notified. The body of the deceased has been transferred to the mortuary, and an autopsy will be performed on Saturday, according to the police.
