NMMS Odisha 2023: Registration started, apply till Aug 31 at ntse.scertodisha.nic.in

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in has commenced the registration process for the NMMS Odisha 2023. Eligible Class 8 students studying in Government or Government Aided schools in Odisha can register for NMMS Odisha 2023 on the official website at ntse.scertodisha.nic.in. The registration period began on August 5 and will continue until August 31.

For the NMMS Odisha 2023, a total of 3,314 scholarships are available. Here are some important dates for the scholarship:

  • Online fill up of Application Forms by candidates and submission of hard copies in schools: August 5 to August 31
  • Submission of signed hard copies of Application Forms by the Headmasters / Headmistress to the District Education Offices (DEOs): September 8
  • Validity of Application Forms by District Education Office: September 25
  • Download of Admit Cards by the Candidates: October 25, 2023, to November 5, 2023
  • NMMS 2023 Exam Date: November 5

To be eligible for NMMS Odisha, a candidate must have scored at least 55% in the Class VII Annual Examination or its equivalent for General and SEBC categories, and 50% for Reserved Categories (SC, ST, PH). The student should be enrolled in Class VIII during the academic year 2023-2024 in a State Government or Government Aided school. Additionally, the parental annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs.3,50,000.00.

However, students studying in Government Residential Schools such as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Residential Schools run by the ST and SC Development Department, KGBV, and others, where all expenditures are covered by the government, are not eligible for this scholarship scheme.

The NMMS Odisha examination pattern comprises two papers: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The MAT includes 90 multiple-choice questions on reasoning and critical thinking to be completed in 90 minutes. The SAT consists of 90 multiple-choice questions from various subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics, also to be completed in 90 minutes. Topics may include analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern, perception, hidden figures, and more.
